I really liked the card N'Zoth's First Mate so I wanted to theorycraft around it a bit. This would likely need to be an aggro deck, so I stuck to that theme. It’s a shame we’re losing Ship's Cannon, but if the overall powerlevel of cards is going down in Standard then maybe a deck like this could make waves!

Let me know what you think, I’ll update it more if we get any more Pirate cards!

I would try the Bloodsail Cultist over the Southsea Captain. I think one of the strategies of Pirate Warrior is going to be equip a weapon and proceed to bump it up using Upgrade!, Bloodsail Cultist, and Captain Greenskin. This will also help increase the chances for synergy with other weapon dependent cards in this deck like Southsea Deckhand, Bloodsail Raider, and Dread Corsair. I can see scenarios where you’re dropping Southsea Captain on turn 3 and there are no Pirates on board to take advantage of his buff. Plus, Bloodsail Cultist is a slightly more durable minion being a 3/4 rather than a 3/3. Maintaining the weapon as a resource can help push damage or be used for removal, which may help offset the lack of card draw. It may also give you some wiggle room with the two Ironbeak Owls. Overall I like the deck and I’m looking forward to trying out some Pirate Warrior variants.

Yeah, I need to update this deck because I created it before the rest of the Pirates were revealed. Thanks for the insight, I’m also looking forward to trying some Pirate Warrior!

Ah, gotcha. I think this deck is in a good spot to start testing on launch.
