This guy will be in every Druid deck for the next 2 years.
The only question about how good this card is – is how good will Druid be?
No, this doesn’t work with jade idol, read the card again. As my brother said, “this card is astonishingly average” and I quite agree. 3/5
Take another look at the choice card for jade idol. It works exactly as expected.
This is awesome also this just became an auto include for some wild druid decks *stares at Jade druid*.
Yeah, the variant already using Fandral will use this, too. On the other hand, weakens the Oaken Summons version.
I did post in another spot of possible downside due to the wording of jade idols it says shuffle 3 copies of this card but if the card given is a new card that says only shuffle 3 copies of this card then this is worthless with idols except as a fatigue staller
Nevermind. Pretty sure the shuffle part of the idol will be just that … a shuffle of 3 useless cards. So … Jade Druid probably won’t want to use him.
It may be possible that they’ll change the wording of jade idol to shuffle 3 jade idols into the deck because of this. Basically like how saronite chain gang was reworded to hamper shudderwock and hand boosting. I don’t think they’d leave jade idol alone since it would be counter productive with what this card is intended to do.
But then you’d have to ask yourself if Blizzard is willing to allow 2 Fandrals (kind of) in such a deck.
Ah well. At least there’s Skulking Geist. 😉
Regardless of that, I really like the card. Cheap legendaries (mana cost-wise) are cool; the ‘Choose one’ keyword is cool and defines Druid as a class. So, thumbs up!
Druid’s back from his Vacation.
Good Token/Aggro Druid support, especially in Wild;
Possibility of generating value, although not so great with more expensive spells:
Flexible, tempoish stats and quite unique. 4/5
No… gods no… not jades… how could you do this blizzard. Please remove jade idol from the game I’m begging you I don’t want to deal with the j a d e
0/5 Leave wild alone
I think you misunderstand. It doesn’t give you two copies of the exact spell, it gives you a copy of each choice. Meaning that one card will read: “shuffle three copies of this into your deck” which works as nothing but fatigue buffer. The other card will read: “Summon a jade golem”
In other words, this card doesn’t give you two jade idols, it just gives you a 1 mana “do nothing” card, and a 1 mana summon a jade golem card.
I am aware of how it works, this still just doubles jade idols and I like playing decks that can’t play skulking Geist
(Rating based on play it will see in the upcoming meta, similar to trump’s ratings)
1 Star
Sure, its a river crock with benefits, but right now the benefits are just, “meh”. It only works with spells, so the only cards that are even remotely good are wrath and starfall (which may become druids only control option with spreading plague leaving). Is 7 mana deal 2 damage to all enemies which adds two pretty bad cards to your hand any good? I honestly don’t think so. Its pretty decent with wrath, but thats about it. For this to become remotely playable, there needs to be more good “choose one” spells. Until then this is just a worse Fandral, that only works on spells, in a time where druid has lost all its power. 1 Star.
Standard wise this isn’t that great but you take this into wild and jade druid becomes ridiculous turn 4 play this and 2 jade idols you can skip shuffling and go straight to summons since this would put 2 cards to summon 4 Jade’s from value And get 3 cards to shuffle more jade idols into the deck. HOWEVER there is one part of it that concerns me for jade idols the wording could imply that you’ll just shuffle 3 copies of a card that shuffles 3 copies into the deck which would make it useless except as a fatigue staller.
Yeah it’s definitely OP in wild.
Here is the reveal video that shows how this works in action-

Note that the spells you get DO NOT cost 0 (as they appear on the Choose One screen), they cost the same as the original spell.
That leaves me kinda underwhelmed actually. It’s at minimum a 2-card 4-mana combo that adds two slightly-overpriced spells to your hand. I’m not sure it’s worth it to run the weaker Choose One spells (Starfall, Mark of the Loa) just for this card. It works just ok with Wrath and maaaybe Call of the Wild for Token Decks. It’s also nice for Druid to have card draw/generation now that a lot of his best card draw is nerfed or rotating. But the vibe this card gives me is that Malfurion will have better things to do.
Hmmm, in that case running high-cost Choose One spells in conjunction with Stalladris is not even great. It seems rather slow and, as you say, underwhelming. Especially seeing as how it dies to a lot of things I doubt that it will make a huge impact the way it is. In Wild it is significantly more powerful seeing as Jade Druid can use this early to amp up the speed with which it summons big jades. In standard however, so far I’m not seeing how it will be used properly. Mecha’Thun is not at all interested in it, and Togwaggle is rotating out. Druid needs a new identity, and I don’t think this alone can facilitate that. We do, however, still have a number of cards that will be revealed, so this might change if impactful spells are printed. We’ll have to see.

This. I can see possibilities–e.g., if there’s some nice hand-size synergy options, or if Druid comes up with some type of value/fatigue game–but it’s not like you’re going to want to pay 6 mana for Nourish AND THEN 6 more mana for 2 more mana crystals and another 6 mana for 3 additional cards. You’re just clogging up your hand at that point.
While Keeper Stalladris is undeniably a good card, there’s only really two maybe three cards worth using with it currently, Wraith, Power of the Wild, and maybe Starfall. Because how limited the card looks like it will be even assuming two or three new Choose One spells, it will probably have more of an impact in Wild than in Standard because of Jade Idol.
Stalladris not doing anything with Choose One minions will really affect its viability in faster and more minion heavy Druid decks.
However, if more good Choose One spells come reliably out of the design pipeline, this could very well become a Druid staple sometime next year. It won’t be in April though.
This should provide a huge boost to the inclusion of choose one spells, promoting even greater flexibility and providing great value, even if only triggered once. Token and Combo are the decks that first spring to mind as benefitting the most right now, but this could easily be an auto-include in all druid decks. Where Fandral was a 5/5 card, with Keeper Stalladris you will need to be able to physically play the cards generated to realize its value, and those cards are inherently underpowered to make up for their flexibility, so 4/5
Now i know why in the lifesteam the choises of spells like power of the wild was updated. This is the new fandrall. Its cheep and the thing you want in every deck. Its only 2 mana. Even the wild token druids can use this. Despite the fact that there are not that much cards to use with it yet, other than the living roots and power of the wild. I really wish there was a way to summon the warduid loti’s dino form for standart. As a card its not seing that much play. And its something not that easy to pull. Desspite the fact its not that worth it :D.
Mark of the loa gives you good value with this. And regular buffs become 3 buffs into one card. Like Mark of nature. You get to buff this and get 2 more buffs into your hand. And the tount is just a bonus. So this thing synergizes amazingly good with the mark spells. So we may see more of them in the future.
So far is a splash card. Just like zilliax. it can go everywhere. Who doesnt want to get 3 buff spells with a boddy to cast for the price of one.
I am not shure how the staghelm and this will work since he plays both options. If that is the case do you get 4 cards for every choose one spell? Raven idol also gives you tons of value with this so you can put it in yogg decks over staghelm.
It should be noted that every choice on choose one cards cost 0. This means that you get two 0-cost copies in your hand. This makes combinations with Auctioneer and Malygos particularly potent.
Good effect on a good body. I can’t imagine what kind of Druid deck would not want this guy. 5/5
there is like 2 or 3 good choose one spells, and often you really want to play them on curve. The card is good definitely, but if you’re not running 2 nourish 2 wrath 2 starfall you may want to play something else
For those who didn’t watch the reveal video, the cards that get added to your hand cost the same mana as the choose one spell you play… So for example, after you play Wrath, you would get a 2 mana spell that deals 3 damage and a 2 mana spell that deals 1 damage and draws a card added to your hand.
Right now, Druid has 6 spells this works with…
Wrath
Power of the Wild
Mark of Nature
Mark of the Loa
Starfall
Nourish
I don’t know if it’s good enough for Mark of Nature and Mark of the Loa to see play… but there is some potential in the ability to give 2 separate minions +4 health and Taunt with 1 card.
This DOES work really well with Wrath and Power of the Wild and to a lesser extent Starfall
It’s a little awkward with Nourish… It is great if you want to draw cards but by the time you have enough mana to play both cards together, the copy of the spell that gives you 2 mana crystals will be a dead card in hand.
Presumably the two cards you get are costed the same as the original. So playing Power of the Wild when Stalladris is on the board nets you a 2-mana 3/2 Beast and a 2-mana spell that gives all your minions +1/+1 … in your hand – neither of which is *that* spectacular.
It’s a decent value-generator though and at 2/3 for 2 mana it’s solid; if it was more expensive it would be harder to play it on the same turn as the spell you want to duplicate… but I dunno, I’ve just got a feeling that this *might* be getting over-rated. It’s nowhere near as good as Fandral with cards like Nourish as that gave you a 5-mana effect for free… whereas this will likely give you an expensive, potentially unplayable, card.
Then again, even played on turn 2, it’s a minion that your opponent *is* going to try their best to remove…
How is it actually? All generated spells are currently shown as 0 mana spells.
Was hoping for a choose one twinspell card. This makes every choose one a twinspell, plus you get both options on a 2 2/3 statline. Good card.
Control, aggro, tempo, combo… just pick one.
This card is gonna be in all of them.
Considering Druid is a class that was bullied throughout the Year of the Raven and is having half of its good cards rotating out, I am very happy that they seem to be getting some solid and powerful cards. This one in particular is really really really good hopefully we see some treants card with a choose one option as that is a archetype that I reckon could survive going into the Year of the Dragon. 4/5
Thank god malfurion the pestilent is rotating out.
Only spells work
Right, my bad. This makes it much less op, but still has a lot of potential for all sorts of shenenigans, especially in wild with jade idols etc.
In Wild you’ve got Fandral – granted you _could_ use both,
… actually – this would be terrible with Jade Idol, thinking about it, wouldn’t it? You’d end up with a 1-mana card that summons a Golem (OK) and another 1-mana card that does absolutely nothing but shuffles 3 copies of itself into your deck?
I guess there could be some kind of lulzy Mill/Hakkar combo going on there maybe but otherwise…
haha yeah having a bunch of cards that just shuffle themselves back into your deck is hilarious. Of course the new generated card could count as “enchanted” so that when it is shuffled back it regains its original effect but idk.
