I've found that for the most part, throwing away the quest is often wrong in almost every matchup. Even though losing a card against aggro is bad, the efficiency in which you will complete the quest almost makes up for it, and the infinite 3/2 imps can help you contest against aggro opponents that haven't already been stomped out of the game by tempo plays much better than theirs.
Malchezaar's Imp is a must keep in almost every matchup, unless you do not wish to risk fatigue.
Silverware Golem and Jeklik are your discard synergistic cards, and can turn the tide of a board or ill-fated value game incredibly quickly.
Other keeps are fairly judge to feel based on matchup.
Very strong deck that hasn’t been experimented with enough to accurately place on the tier list, but suffice to say it’s at least tier 3. This has favourable matchups against a huge array of the wild meta, namely Big Priest, Even Warlock and Aggro Kingsbane Rogue. Also does incredibly well against just about any aggro deck, and has the value in Lakkari Sacrifice, High Priestess Jeklik, and Gul’dan to easily outvalue slower opponents. The addition of Demonbolt, a vastly underrated card in these midrange Warlock decks that focus on board presence, can assist in matchups such as Even Warlock, Reno Warlock and Big Priest, dispatching their critical taunts that would otherwise be difficult to push through. Burst such as Soulfire and Doomguard give the deck a lot of reach, and the classic Voidcaller into Mal’ganis can win you games instantly and much to the dismay of your opponent.
Rastakhan gave this deck a ton of amazing tools, with absolute powerhouses such as Shriek, Reckless Diretroll and Soulwarden filling in many of the gaps that stopped Discard Warlock from becoming powerful.
Most prominently, High Priestess Jeklik is one of the best Discard Warlock cards ever printed, and, along with Silverware Golem, turns many of your discards into completely positive effects, causing some incredible tempo and value swing plays only requiring a card or two.
This deck has crept up on us. Cards such as the quest, the Soularium, Malchezaar’s Imp, and Lakkari Felhound, all incredible cards that didn’t have support upon their release, have slowly been trickling into our collections, waiting for the day to shine. Today is that day.
