“Even Giant Token” Druid — guide by TinSonSay
Mulligan:
– The only card(s) you’re really looking for here are your Mountain Giants. My mulligan recommendation is actually to send everything back looking for them. The Giants are such a strong early threat that finding them should be your first and foremost priority.
– If you get the sense your opponent is playing a board centric deck, consider keeping a copy of Swipe.
Gameplay:
– Mountain Giant: as I mentioned before, this deck is meant to be aggressive and these are your biggest and scariest threats. Holdout playing most cards in the deck for tempo and instead build a large hand, since this makes casting your Mountain Giants easier. One card that helps with this is Witchwood Apple.
– Knife Juggler: apart from swipe, this is your only way to deal AoE damage to the opponents minions. Combine it with Whispering Woods, Penguins, Wisps, and Apples.
– Soul of the Forest: this deck is full of token generation, so Soul of the Forest becomes incredibly powerful when played with cards like Whispering Woods and Illidan Stormrage.
Pitfalls:
As always in my deck deck guides, I like to point out some of the pitfalls of the deck. By pitfalls I mean the ways for the deck to really fail at what it’s intended to do. These are things to watch out for…
– This deck is not meant to go forever and will run out of steam eventually.
– The deck packs limited comeback potential, so if you fall too far behind you may just be out.
– You will run into some big hand problems. First, since your hand is nearly full your opponent can force you to mill. Secondly, while trying to build a large hand, speedy opponents can force you still spill the hand sooner than you would like.
