“Big Spiteful” Shaman  — guide by TinSonSay

Mulligan:

– The card to really look for is Bright-eyed Scout. The Scout is crucial for cheating larger threats out early.

– If you assume your opponent is aggro, keep Doomsayer. Furthermore, if you have Doomsayer and sniff out an aggro opponent, you can keep a Wax Elemental to pair it with.

Gameplay:

– Bright eyed scout: this deck has plenty of positive targets for the scout’s mana reduction to hit. Of these targets, drawing Oakheart and reducing Oakheart’s cost to 5 is usually the best route to a huge board.

– Doomsayer: fighting for the board early is something this deck can struggle with, so finding proactive uses for Doomsayer is very important. You can be very aggressive when doing so. I found success throwing him down onto boards which didn’t seem that menacing yet, that way on the following turn the doomsayer would not only be more difficult to clear but has a good chance of keeping them from adding to the board as well.

– Eureka!: this deck has plenty of positive Eureka! Targets, so finding one should be easy. Just be careful not to hit Doomsayer or Wax Elemental.

Pitfalls:

As always in my deck deck guides, I like to point out some of the pitfalls of the deck. By pitfalls I mean the ways for the deck to really fail at what it’s intended to do. These are things to watch out for…

– Drawing Oakheart combo pieces before playing Oakheart severely inhibits the combo.

– Drawing both Eureka! before playing Spiteful renders Spiteful’s battlecry useless.

– Be cautious of which dragons are left in the deck, you don’t want Dragonhatcher to whiff.

– Wait for Spiteful to finish summoning before passing/proceeding with your turn, as summoning minions that influence your turn is common.
