General Mulligans
Mulligan these away, exception being Ancestral Spirit if you have a Tar Creeper or Drakkari Defender in hand already against potential aggro, or to bait a Rogue Sap and enable Earth Elemental to be played. The rest are generally useless for early game compared to the other cards, with Electra and Omega Mind forcing a Eureka gamble, or delaying it's play.Like the title says, a big shaman deck that utilizes the new spell Eureka!
I’m going to start off by assuming if you can craft this deck, then I can skip the basics, though there are a few things you should be aware of when piloting this deck.
Sap, Psychic Scream, and Freezing Trap are your worst enemy, always try to play around them or bait them out using Ancestral Spirit on a Tar Creeper or Drakkari Defender. This is not an aggressive deck, as long as you have a taunt on the field, you shouldn’t feel the need to attack face if there’s a secret in play.
Vs aggro, assuming you didn’t get the worst draw you should often be able to survive and turn the game around by using Ancestral Spirit and Spirit Echoes on your 3 early game minions.
Vs Control, such as Warrior and Warlock, your win condition rests solely on being able to play Snowfury Giants + Ancestral Spirit or Spirit Echoes into Sapphire Spellstone, anything less and it will all get lost in Brawl/Twisting Nether.
If you draw Omega Mind or Electra Stormsurge early you’ll have to make the judgement call whether or not to play them to clear up space for a Eureka guarantee, or a turn 9 Electra Eureka play. If it looks like you might need Omega Mind for turn 10, consider holding onto that reduce costed snowfury giant to increase your odds of a successful Eureka gamble.
Biggest counters are Kingsbane and Pogohopper Rogue, you might beat Secret Burn Mage once in a blue moon if you have a perfect draw. A poor draw will see you losing against aggro. As a slower Shaman deck, the goal post was, can it beat Shudderwock? The answer is far more often than not, yes, and so I consider this deck a successful contender.
One last tip, try to hold onto your Beakered Lightning, it can be devastating when played with malygos vs cards like Bloodreaver Guldan, or Flamecaller Allana for which this decks only answer is Maly/Beaker or Electra Volcanoe/Lightning Storm, and feel free to throw out The Runespear for a Tidal Surge or Healing Rain.
