Mulligans

General Mulligans

The general choice should be really obvious: mulligan for the midrange options, throw away your control cards and pray you can win by turn 6-7. In the event you don't get any of the big cards, storm chaser will help you pick up Bloodlust or The Storm Bringer, so getting that card is as good as any.

This deck is a theory crafted one, because I’m too broke to actually craft most of the cards here but y’know.

The concept of the deck should be relatively simple to understand, probably just by looking at the cards you can tell what’s going on. But regardless, here’s the breakdown:

Phase one

The deck generally plays like a midrange deck, with BloodlustThe Storm Bringer and Thrall, Deathseer as the important cards. Having 4 to 5 minions on board when you play these cards more or less seal your opponent’s fate because of sudden amount of board pressure that you’ve just presented to them (assuming you didn’t already kill them). Storm Chaser‘s purpose in this deck is probably self explanatory.

building this board presence involves the use of Thunderhead and Voltaic Burst as a combo to either trade expendable minions or pair up with one of the big spell cards as mentioned above. Saronite Chain Gang has a similar function to this as well.

Keep in mind, though – due to the presence of Kalimos, Primal Lord in your deck, you may consider saving a Flame Elemental  in your hand for when that time comes.

Phase two

In the event that your opponent pushes past this burst, the deck shifts into the next phase as a Shudderwock deck.  cards like Giggling Inventor serve as not only defensive walls, but also build up your shudderwock to make it even deadlier when it eventually hits. With this in mind, this is also why Stone Sentinel is here as well.

Kalimos, Primal Lord and The Lich King are there as generally good cards that pose as huge threats in general that require much of the opponent’s resources to clear. In a way, their role extends beyond being threats and simply burn your opponent’s resources so that when your shudderwock drops, it’ll be as good as a death sentence.

Shudderwock

Let’s explain how this shudderwock is designed to work:

2 annoy-o-trons + 2 stone elementals + 3 shudderwocks on the board immediately.

Kalimos to either fill your board or work as general utility (by this point, you’re either hoping for a saving grace or just nailing the cherry on the cake. It’s hard for a deck like this to be neck and neck with another.)

then, Thrall, Deathseer works its magic and evolves all of that to create a board of either 3-4 drops, with 1-3 giants.

more or less, by this point in the game having a board this large is practically a win already. enough said.
