Blightnozzle Crawler Card Review
The stats on this card are… underwhelming. 4 mana for a 2/4 minion is just so, so slow. I don’t believe that Rogue is getting lots of Mech synergies this expansion, so the Mech tag might not matter too. The only interesting part of this card is Deathrattle, basically.
Summoning a 1/1 with Poisonous and Rush is really strong. It basically kills any minion you choose, unless it’s hidden behind a Taunt. That’s powerful, but only on your own turn. That’s the main problem. If it dies on your turn, you immediately clear something with the 1/1. But if it dies on the opponent’s turn, he most likely just pings the 1/1 or throws in some small minion to trade it, leaving his big guys unharmed. And let’s be honest, starting from Turn 4, a 2/4 minion is not very hard to clear.
The only way for this card to see more play would be if Rogue got more Deathrattle synergies, especially some easier ways to trigger them. Like, imagine if it was a Hunter card and you could trigger it more reliably with Play Dead and Terrorscale Stalker. It would look much better. Maybe if you Carnivorous Cube it, but then again, you don’t want to run Cube in a deck that doesn’t have lots of synergies (you definitely DON’T want Cube just for this card). Right now, it’s just much better to run a Vilespine Slayer. Sure, it’s a combo card, but it’s a) more consistent and b) instant.
Maybe in Wild there will eventually be enough Deathrattle synergies for Rogue to make one viable deck, who knows.
Card rating: 3/10, possibly more if some Deathrattle synergies get printed
After more reveals and Deathrattle support this card has gained HUGE combo advantage that can’t be ignored. It’s become rather deadly.
After rogue weapon i give it 4/5 it’s super combo
It only makes sense if you can reliably give it rush – so if you steal warrior cards in rogue I guess? Just way to inconsistent to be a thing
If it was Battlecry it would probably be OP… as it’s Deathrattle, it’s pretty poor. Might be some lulzy N’Zoth potential in Wild.
Since it’s not great in Rogue but *could* be pretty useful in Hunter, I suspect this card exists mainly to enrich the pool of Mechs available from Cybertech Chip.
This card is very easy to play around, from the opponent’s perspective: if I can deal with the 1/1 Poisonous immediately, I kill this minion, if not, I wait (a 4 mana 2/4 is not scary by any means). In Arena it should be able to trade better, but I still don’t think it will be very strong. Rogue lacks (at the moment) things like Play Dead to abuse this minion, so I don’t expect to see it in constructed at all. 0.5/5 stars in constructed, 2.5/5 stars in Arena.
the best way to use this is to buff him and then your enemy forced to kill it but again no one is that brainless to try kill it with full board so its just 2/5
and its even so its totally – /5
The good thing about this card is that hunter can get it from Cybertech Chip and utilise its deathrattle much better with cards like Play Dead and Terrorscale Stalker
My vibe is that this will be too easy to “disarm” to be worth playing, but it’s a little hard to gauge these sort of effects until you actually play the card. Also note that for one more mana you could play good ol Vilespline, which is much more fast and consistent as removal.
It would be good if Crawler would have also rush or even if ooze would have taunt, but not its 1/5 stars
Vilebrood and free 2/4, what can go wrong? Or maybe y’all think differently?
If it dies during your opponent’s turn, you are going to lose the Vilebrood without it killing anything of note. It’s also extremely slow.
you should force your enemy to kill this like cast cold blood or bonemare or mushroom dude etc on it it MAY be work
Why? The mech itself doesn’t have Poisonous and Hunter, Druid, Warrior, other Rogues, Mage, Paladin, and perhaps Shaman shouldn’t have much of an issue with clearing the token Crawler spawns on death.
Throwing a Cold Blood on it when you play it would be a waste of a Cold Blood since the damage it would deal would probably be minimal.
You can’t combo this with Bonemare since that would cost twelve mana.
Funglemaster is the only good option to buff it since it can be done on curve, but this is still a four mana 2/4.
This is a hard card to judge. I think you have to see this in action to get the full e x p e r i e n c e
?/5
As a standalone, it is too slow. this could work if there’s more synergy to it.
It’s technically a four mana 3/5 that might take something with it.
The biggest issue with the card is that it is a rogue card, a class with some of the best removal options in the game already. The fact that it’s slow and something you really want to die on your turn, doesn’t exactly help it.
A rogue playing this wants it to die on their terms to the point where if this does not die on your turn, you basically threw a card and four mana’s worth of tempo away to deal either two or maybe four damage and then kill a small minion or make a Mage use their fireblast on it.
Unless there’s going to be a piece or two of Deathrattle support for Rogue on the level of Unearthed Raptor from The League of Explorers, I do not see this being playable.
People seem to be looking at the statline as a disadvantage. Chillwind Yeti might be larger but this guy sticks better and can seriously trade up. I think it’s good.
And yet Vilespine Slayer does the same thing and its faster.
Now the legendary minion has got to synergize with deathrattles and poisonous. It even says in one of the blog posts that she’s undead
