Mulligans

General Mulligans

These are the cards I mainly want when I mulligan. I'ts best to get these because they're cheap and very useful to have early game. From the games I've played, Wax Elemental is the best turn one minion I can get because its combo of divine shield and taunt almost always guarantees me two turns of protection. Fire Fly comes at a close second though. Glacial shard is there in case you don't get either of those. The only reason I don't prefer using it as a turn one minion is because of its ability. It's something I prefer using when I need to use it the most, mainly when a powerful minion threatens me and I'm not entirely prepared to deal with it. As for turn two, I tend to look for Shimmering Tempest and Book of Specters, for they both make for a great turn two card. However I always keep spellstones for having them early allows me to fully upgrade them as soon as possible. Finally, Tar Creeper is there for a good taunt minion to play on turn 3 thanks to taunt.

I’m gonna start off by saying that I’m new to Hearthstone, so I don’t have much competitive experience with the game, so don’t expect me to tell you how well it does against certain decks or how well it does in general. I’m submitting this mainly to get any possible advice from more experienced people who know the dos and don’ts of the current meta. That being said, lets get to the deck.

This deck is what I’m gonna call a semi-budget elemental deck. I say semi because it’s not exactly cheap, but not expensive either. It focuses mainly on minion abilities and spells that compliment those minions.  For example, the Ruby Spellstone card gives you 3 (if fully upgraded) random mage spell cards. This is complimented by Leyline Manipulator who reduces the cost of cards that didn’t start in your deck by 2. Certain minions in this deck also gain abilities if you played an elemental on the previous turn (Thunder Lizard, Tol’vir Stoneshaper). All of this however, melds together thanks to Frost Lich Jaina, which gives all of your elementals lifesteal, gives you a sick hero power, along with other good things. Now obviously certain pieces are missing, Baron Geddon and Achrmage Arugal being the two major ones, but it can still do well. Certain cards are there mainly to help aid in the lack of these cards, Cauldron Elemental to replace Baron, Ice Walker to replace Pyros, and extra minion that wouldn’t be in a deck like this normally to help replace the rest. Overall, I feel like this deck has potential to go up in the ranks, not too high because again it’s a semi-budget, but enough to maybe be a solid mid-tier deck (mainly around 15-10 is what I’m thinking).

So that’s my deck in a nutshell. What do you think of it? What would change about this deck and why? Advice would be very helpful to me so don’t hesitate to give your opinion.
