Blizzard’s 30th Anniversary – Commemorative “Celebration Bundles” With Loot For Multiple Games Available For Purchase

Usually, people who purchase BlizzCon tickets get some in-game loot for each of the active Blizzard franchises. However, since this time around the tickets themselves will be free, AND it’s Blizzard’s 30th anniversary, they’ve released a separate “Celebration Collection”.

It has three tiers – Essentials, Heroic and Epic. 2nd tier contains all the loot from 1st and some extra, while 3rd tier has everything. You can only buy one of them, but if you buy a lower tier and change your mind, you can then upgrade to a higher tier by paying the difference.

Bundles contain loot for different games, including Hearthstone. However, just like always, they are worth it more the more Blizzard franchises you play. When it comes to what you get in Hearthstone:

  • Essentials ($19.99) – 10x Darkmoon Faire Card Pack
  • Heroic ($39.99) – Random Darkmoon Faire Legendary Card
  • Epic ($59.99) – 5x Golden Darkmoon Faire Card Packs (containing only Golden cards from the expansion).

As you can clearly see, if you’re only playing Hearthstone, it’s simply not worth it. But if you also play other Blizzard games like WoW (pet, mount, extra game time), Overwatch (icons, sprays, Hero skin, loot boxes) or Diablo III (pet, portrait, wings, transmog items) – the overall value goes up considerably.

If you’re interested, you can get it here.

Learn more about it from the blog post below:

My first blizzard game was Warcraft in 1995 and I was in 6th grade. I played 2&3 and Starcraft and played WOW for few years through the first expansion when I was in college. All in all Blizzard has provided me a lifetime of entertainment.

Now I’m pushing 40 and I’m still here playing this card game. I guess it really is gamers for life.

    Thanks for the good times.

For anyone who only play Hearthstone like me, the value is not really interesting.
But for those who play other game like WoW, Epic Bundle seems very good.

    Conclusion, I’ll pass.

Yeah, my conclusion is that you need to be playing at least two of those games to even consider getting the bundle, and three or more for it to be a nice deal. It’s definitely not worth it for Hearthstone alone.

I also wish they gave us some unique cosmetic reward in Hearthstone like in all other games instead of just cards 🙁
