This year’s World Championship was officially announced. Last year the most important tournament became tied to Hearthstone Grandmasters circuit, and this won’t change. 8 players will participate in total – winners from each region’s Grandmasters Season 1 & 2, as well as two Chinese players qualified through China’s Gold Series. They will fight for their share of $500,000 prize pool.
Grandmasters 2020 Season 2 will conclude in just over two weeks, on October 11, and then we’ll learn all of the representatives from Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Then China’s Gold Series champion will be decided on November 15, after which we’ll have the full World Championship roster. So far, we know four players who already qualified after the first season – bloodyface from Americas, glory from Asia-Pacific, SilverName from Europe and iG.Syf from China.
Current reigning World Champion is China’s Liooon, who won 2019 Hearthstone World Championship and became the first woman to get this title.
