This week’s Tavern Brawl is Ahune’s Superior Brawl! Now that the Fire Festival is over, Ahune has taken over for Ragnaros. There’s no deck building and no class choosing this week (you start as either Mage or Paladin). Each Hero is immune and cannot gain armor or heal! The only way to do damage and win the game is by destroying Ragnaros bots. Each time you destroy one it deals 4 damage to your opponent and respawns another Ragnaros bot in its place.

Tavern Brawl Ahune Quick Tips/Info
- Mage gets a Reno deck which feels a bit underpowered from my early playing of the brawl.
- Paladin is kind of a midrange buff build which feels much easier to pilot.
Tavern Brawl Chalkboard
I have yet to lose as a mage. The board control tools are so strong if you just hold them until they become valuable. Once your first Drake hits the board it’s over for the paladin.
This is a good tavern brawl for teaching new players how to focus on controlling the board. It’s tempting to nuke the ragnaros?. However if you keep thier board clear you can pick them off at you leisure.
On a side note I think the mage should muligan hard for the acidic swamp ooze.
