Another week has gone by and it’s time to check out some of the standout decks!
If you’re looking for a full list of the best decks for the ladder check out these posts:
Standout Decks of the Week
Control Paladin has gotten more popular in the recent weeks, mostly due to Ostkaka using it to get to high legend at the end of Season 38. While that version of the deck used N’Zoth, this version adds Elemental synergy to gain card advantage with Servant of Kalimos or get value from great 2-for-1 cards like Fire Plume Phoenix and Blazecaller.
Zetalot not only used this deck to get to Legend, but he then piloted it to reach top-16! The inclusion of 2x Circle of Healing and a single copy of Greater Healing Potion separate it from your more traditional lists.
Georgec has been a common sight at HCT events over the last couple years, and he’s used this version of Control/Burn Mage to maintain a high spot on the ladder since the beginning of the season.

Ramp Druid appears to be on the rise, I’ve seen some players playing what is referred to as “Big Druid” floating around the Pro Scene. It’s probably not the most competitive deck, but can be very powerful if you’re able to ramp early and hit those big minions on curve.

I’ve always been a fan of Grim Patron, so it’s great to see it still seeing a bit of play now and again. The main portion of the deck relies on the Quest and Taunt synergy, however, the inclusion of Inner Rage and Grim Patron gives it extra ability to get out of control. This is aided by cards you’d find in a more typical Wild Quest Warrior like Whirlwind and Unstable Ghoul.
