HCT Seoul had a bit of controversy attached to it. If you missed it, a recent patch changed some of the interaction with Faceless Manipulator and Jungle Giants. Previously, if you used Faceless on a 5-attack or above minion you would get credit towards the quest. The patch made it so this was no longer the case. Unfortunately for players at HCT Seoul, they had already submitted decks and some of those decks included Jungle Giants. Thankfully for the players, Blizzard eventually made it so anyone who brought that deck could switch it for another one. However, this still likely left them at a disadvantage because lineups are created with each deck playing off each other.
Despite a bit of drama, the event still went on and at the end of it we had a winner with Hunterace! Check out the decks he used to take home the championship.
Wow, mostly aggressive decks in a meta where Aggro has been squelched. I did not watch the series, was Hunterace simply lucky with nigh perfect opening hands, or did he just catch everyone off guard and overran the control decks?
