I’ve been a bit curious what Freeze Mage would look like post expansion, and Koroneko reached rank 11 legend with this list. The list didn’t have to replace much, it lost Antique Healbot, but more importantly it lost Mad Scientist which helped guarantee the ability to get Ice Block on the board. This deck removes Ice Barrier and now employs double Novice Engineer and Cone of Cold. This current list even removed Archmage Antonidas which may or may not be something we see added back in the future. I’m also curious how well this deck will continue to operate without healing, but Koroneko seems not to have had much trouble without it.

just because mad scientist are gone dose not mean you need to go and add that much card draw because now you cant get a lethal easily and no healing plus not to mention that your setting yourself up to fatigue

I dont see how you can make legend with this deck.
I tried it in the “standard” mode, so i was rank 18 when i begun to play this deck, i got 3 wins -10 defeat.
Im always full of cards, and all those “draw a cards” are not needed. Not as much.
I got nothing to put on the board to protect myself, no healing, and those spells are not enough to make you win.
So either i cant play a simple deck like this one ( LOL !! ) either “Legend ” rank is easier than rank 17.
I changed the cards from this deck to put more minions, taunt, legend, healing, and i won 10 for just 2 loses…

Interesting deck… but is incomplete. It needs ice barrier and Anthonidas… and the new minion that heals face. I dont understand how it got to legend.
Well playing minions and taunts makes it a control deck or something. This is not supposed to be played in the way you’d play a “normal” deck. Since he not only got legend, but rank 11 legend chances are you’re just playing the deck wrong.

I wonder what i can do to protect myself from the ennemy attacking me.
I must play a card to not have 10 cards in hand and lose the next one, but all the cards i got give me more cards…
So ok, i play this deck wrong, but just tell me what to do when in all the game i played with this deck i got more than enough cards in my hands, and almost useless cards to defend me.
Most of the time i dont even reach round 9 to put Alex, so i wonder how he can make it to legend…
Actually Ice Barrier is necessary, and Antonidas give Freeze Mage an additional win condition.
I replace: -1 cone of cold – 1 blizzard – 1 Pyro -1 Novice Engineer
And I add: +1 Flamestrike +1 Antonidas +2 Ice Barrier
I climb to legend with this decklist.
i feel like ice barrier is still needed in the deck. it buys more time, especially when you dont have anything to play when you get a hand full of spells. you do have even more freeze spells which can buy more time but they do cost more. and i have antonidas in it. having as many ways to win the match as possible is important. sometimes you wont be able to get alex off on them so you will need more fireballs to finish. but thats just like my opinion man.

Not in Wild I think. In Standard maybe. Anyway, I guess is quite difficult to play this deck because everything will depends on Alex. Anthonidas gives you an extra win option.
There are ways to play the deck without Antonidas and Alex, although it’s much different. You need to know how to play if they’re pushing lethal and you haven’t drawn Alex though, that’s where most of the skill comes from. You have to know what will give you the most value when, and when you have to make the switch between going for the Alex combo and going for lethal normally. Most people play around you using Alex, so you can usually just chip them down before they realize it until you hit legend. Without Antonidas you can definitely win in standard, as I play without him just running more heals instead of more burst.
Yes because you ve so much draw burst and I think antonidas cost so much and you must play thaurissan before for this I prefer pyroblast ☺
Yes, no problem at all. Way back freeze mage ran either pyro or archmage, not both. Fireballs are kinda clunky, so I ran no archmage and heavy draw, to consistantly cycle 30 cards in 10-12 turns. Most games won with the 21 dmg burst combo… oh the memories, have at least 600 wins with that deck 🙂
And this is a WotoG deck why? I don’t see any of the new cards in it.

That just makes it Standard; not necessarily WOTOG.
WotOG is more for time reference. Standard will be around for a while, so this designation associates it with this time period.
Maybe each decklist should have a little icon somewhere on it, denoting wether it’s wild or standard, and if standard, which year it is. So, this would have a little Kraken symbol to show it was from this standard.
That Kraken symbol would also be used for WoToG, so it wouldn’t quite work right.
